Christmas day morning run got better and better, icicles growing from the rocks and moss.
Christmas Day 2020
Icy puddles
Ground was frozen this morning making it easier to run on what is usually a muddy, sodden mess. A beautiful sunrise for Christmas day.
Worth getting up for
I very nearly stayed in bed. I’m so glad I didn’t, otherwise I would have missed this. Merry Christmas x
Trees
I’m photographing trees more and more, especially, as here, where they’re silhoutted against a sunny winter sky. The light this morning was perfect.
Horses
I pass this field most days. Sometimes the horses are there, sometimes not. Today they seemed content, rugged up against the cold and perhaps, like me, enjoying the sun.
The Boathouse, Bantham, Devon
I spent many days during our annual summer holiday with my parents and siblings on Bantham beach. Burgh Island and its art deco hotel (Poirot) is just offshore.
Floodwaters and Winter Berries
There’s even more water coming through town than yesterday. Benches, tables and bins are submerged. But this bright little shrub is standing up above the brown inundation.
Cockwood harbour
I’ve never seen the harbour full of water – the tide out on the Exe estuary was fairly high, but the harbour was muddy.
