Christmas Day 2020
The world is still here
I needed to walk until my bones fell off so there was nothing left to feel sad with. The world gave me beautiful sunshine and blue skies.

Little Owl in an Oak Tree
On the first day of Christmas, no partridge or pear tree but this little owl, confident of its camouflage among the twisted limbs of an old oak
Catkins
Male and female catkins of black alder. Like crack willows, alders creak in the breeze but with a different voice. We can hear them speak if we listen well.
Frost on the edges
My Christmas morning swim – cold water swimming has been a saviour for me the last few years, especially in these strange times.
