Boxing Day 2020

Taken in my back garden, this individual was waiting for a space on the feeders. Looking rather wet and sorry for itself.

On a grey drizzly Boxing Day walk these coral coloured fungus stood out.

I like the way in which this branch still has flowers amid the bare structure left by the fallen leaves. It seems to be looking both forward and back.

I love how the water can mean we see everything twice.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so interestingly mottled before.

Lockdown has made precious views of sunrise and sunset even more important somehow. I try to capture the morning sky each day, Yorkshire weather permitting!

Up here on the Purbeck Plateau the south-westerlies hold sway over what few trees there are…

I think I peaked yesterday with so much Christmas nature, but this was a lovely pop of colour, and a reminder that hope springs eternal 💜
